Lead For Africa takes the long term impact approach because ensuring all children in Africa have access to a great education can lead to stronger communities and economic growth that works for everyone.

What We Do

Leadership Development

Our Leadership Development model successfully addresses and provides both short-term and long-term solutions that proactively impact Africa’s educational and youth employment outcomes. In the short-term, through our Leadership Development Fellowship program, we recruit young, bright, energetic, and dedicated future leaders to lead and positively impact the educational outcomes of students in underserved communities in Africa. In the long-term, we generate a network of outstanding individuals who are bound by a shared experience and motivated by an ambitious vision to ensure that all children in Africa have access to a great education. And through our consultancy and advisory services, we develop the leadership capacity of staff and management of corporate and government institutions to help them build a more robust corporate and government leadership that works for everyone.

Research & Innovation

Our Research & Innovation work provides original, fundamental insights and analysis in educational leadership, mindset development, EdTech, climate education, community engagement, economic impact, gender parity and student outcomes. We analyze countries and regions in Africa on educational, economic, and security strengths to identify country and community investment and school partnership opportunities. For example, we’re currently expanding access to education for children in cocoa growing communities in Ghana by conducting research on the effect child labour has on education and how best our educational model can effectively reach these children. And as we know that the continent contains numerous ethnic groups, we are consistently taking steps to ensure that we break biases amongst our young leaders and teachers and the students we teach. Our Research & Innovation work is emblematic of our commitment to ensuring that our model is effective and tailored to children across Africa

Educational Infrastructure

Development

Our Infrastructure Development is rooted in providing conducive and safe environments that foster learning and mindset development for students and communities. This is designed to address the lack of classrooms and school buildings across the continent. From our research we’ve learned that students who learn in open spaces are easily distracted and find it difficult to concentrate in class. Further, academic activities stop due to inclement weather including heavy downpours and extremely hot days. These challenges have a negative effect on students’ attendance and academic performance, and for this reason must be remedied.
